Biography
Orla Merrigan completed her Diploma in Nursing in Anglia University, in the UK. Orla then worked in the Homerton Hospital in London and then moved to the Coronary Care Unit in UCHL as a senior staff nurse. She then proceeded after two years to move to Riyadh in the Middle East to work for two years as a nurse in Critical Care. After this Orla returned to St. James hospital in Dublin where she worked for two years and competed her Higher Diploma in Intensive Care and Coronary Care with Trinity College Dublin. Orla then completed her BSC in Nursing Management in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. Orla then worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager in Coronary / Intensive Care in Roscommon, and completed her MSC at National University of Ireland, Galway in 2006. Orla then worked as CNM2 in one of the Dublin Academic Teaching Hospitals, and worked part time as a lecturer in The Royal college of Surgeons, Dublin. During this time orla completed her Graduate Diploma in Education at University College Dublin. Orla has also worked on two surgical missions with Prof. Magdi Yacoub in The Aswan Heart Centre.
