Biography

Fryad Henari received his BSc in Physics (1972) from Sulaimaniyah University, Iraq. He was awarded MSc by Strathclyde University in Glasgow and PhD (1987) by Trinity College, University of Dublin. In 1987 he joined Photonics group, Physics Department, Trinity College where he carried out research on nonlinear optics. In 1997 he moved to the University of Bahrain, Physics Department and in 2005 he joined RCSI-MUB.  He is author of 57 peer-reviewed publications; His research work has been cited over 600 times and with h- index of 14. He has supervised Ph.D. MSc graduates and final year projects (research). His research interests includes investigating nonlinear properties of nano particles, polymers, organic and inorganic materials for their potentials in communication devices using z-scan and four wave mixing and the potential of polymer materials as a laser medium and their use for optical switching devices, medical applications and medical imaging
