Student Research

There are available a group of opportunities for students to pursue research during the summer recess.
These include:

  • RCSI Summer Student Research Awards. These can be carried out in Ireland or Bahrain under supervision. Financial support for subsistence is provided. Applications are due by the end of March and comprise a research proposal and support from a research supervisor.
  • RCSI Alumni Summer Student Research Awards. These can be carried out in Ireland or Bahrain under supervision. Financial support for subsistence is provided. Applications are due by the end of March and comprise a research proposal and support from a research supervisor.

All full-time undergraduate students at RCSI (Medicine, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy) as well as undergraduate students in medicine & nursing in Bahrain and undergraduate medical students who trained at RCSI in Penang Medical College, Malaysia are eligible to apply.  Please note some of these awards are for specific areas of research only, others for specific projects and others for general research.

Several of the Bahrain staff have derived Student-led projects for the summer recess based on funding from the college Research Committee.  Information for these projects can be found either in the Research and Research Ethics forum or directly from the research supervisors themselves.
