BSc (Hons) in Nursing Bridging Programme

Aims

  • Critically reflect on the role of the nurse and the related challenges in the delivery of healthcare leadership in order to work effectively as integrated members of multi/interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Develop in students the necessary skills to promote evidence based nursing, critically appraise the nursing literature and apply research methodologies appropriate to their area of nursing practice to enhance patient/client care in.
  • Develop the skills to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies for client groups in their area of practice taking into account the factors that determine and influence health.
  • To provide a basic knowledge of legal and ethical issues, related to the role of the nurse.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the programme the student will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse nursing concepts and debate the clinical role of the nurse as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  2. Undertake a critical appraisal of nursing literature and search and review literature.
  3. Critically reflect on continuing professional and personal development through lifelong, self-directive learning.
  4. Critically evaluate the factors that influence health and identify and plan health promotion interventions appropriate to patient/client needs in their areas of care.
  5. Critically explore the art and science of nursing, registered nurses are facilitated to deepen their understanding of the contemporary issues that inform and influence nursing.
  • The BSN Bridging Programme runs for a total of 18 months
    Required documents:
    • A complete Application Form
    • Copy of a valid license to practice nursing.
    • A copy of certified Associate Diploma in Nursing or Equivalent.
    • A copy of English Exam test score of 5.0 in ILETS or TOEFL 500.
    • Curriculum Vitae.
    • A copy of your certified examination transcripts.
    • A personal  Recommendation from Duly signed by referee.
    • Two (2) recent passport sized photographs (signed on the back).
    • A copy of the front cover of your Passport, including the pages showing your name, nationality and date of birth.
    • Computer skills are  essential
    • A copy of your CPR (Identification card)
    • Fees deposit prior to course starts
