As part of their on going support for medical students both in Bahrain and the region, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain), has organised a workshop for students wishing to learn more about postgraduate medical training in Canada.
The University has arranged for Ms. Sandra Banner, Executive Director of the Canadian Resident Matching Service (“CaRMS”) , to visit the University from the 22nd to 25th November. CaRMS is a not for profit organization that works in close cooperation with the medical education community, medical schools and students, to provide an electronic service for access to postgraduate medical training through out Canada.
On the 23rd November Ms. Banner will give a presentation to students detailing the step by step process for students wishing to return and work in Canada. She will also cover preparation, examinations, clerkships in Canada, and speak about the current and future of medical education in Canada as well as the reciprocity issues that students need to understand.
RCSI Bahrain has invited students from medical education facilities in the region to attend the CaRMAS workshop and benefit from this valuable opportunity.
