Please find below essential information for International Students:
The student visa makes it legal for you to stay in Bahrain whilst studying at RCSI Bahrain. An application for a Visa should be made after you have accepted you offer at the university and submitted your deposit. Although the university will help in processing your visa application, the granting of the Visa is at the discretion of the General Directorate of Nationality, Passport and Residence (GDNPR) of the Kingdom of Bahrain and RCSI Bahrain cannot guarantee that there will be no delay or rejection of the Visa application. The student visa can take from 1 week – 2 months to process depending on your nationality and place of birth so it is essential to start this process early.

Our international students live in apartment blocks at the entrance of the university which is around 2- 5 minutes’ walk to the University and to the main teaching hospital, King Hamad University Hospital. Although these building area not operated by RCSI Bahrain, the Student Services Department will give you support in finding appropriate accommodation. They will provide you with information on the buildings facilities, give you contact details of the agents and help you in finding a flat mate. Most of our new students opt for a flat mate for companionship and to share the cost of the accommodation. The Student Services Department will help match you to a flat mate if desired.

Medical Examinations and Immunizations report
All International Student (non residents of Bahrain), are required to be tested for Blood Borne Viruses on arrival in Bahrain as mandated by the Ministry of Health in Bahrain. This will be organised for you by the University during orientation week. Please note:- If a positive result is received, a student will not be eligible to study at RCSI Bahrain and will be repatriated. More information regarding the BBV tests will be provided along with your offer to the university.
In addition, all International students are required to complete the Medical and Immunization Report prior to attending the university and this should be submitted to the Admissions Office after you have accepted your offer to the University. Certification of School Transcript & Certificates
As RCSI Bahrain operates in Bahrain, we have to follow the regulations of the Higher Education Council (HEC) in Bahrain. Once you have been offered a place on our programme, the University will submit your file to the HEC who will review and confirm you registration at RCSI Bahrain. All students are required to follow this process. Without confirmation from the HEC, you will not be fully registered at RCSI Bahrain.
In addition, all new students that are admitted to RCSI Bahrain must provide the original copy of their High School transcript and Certificate after it has been accredited by the Ministry of Education in the country that they studied in. Although we ask for these original documents before starting your studies in the university, we understand that this process can take some time to complete or you might not have received your original certificate from the awarding body by the time the programme starts. Alternative submission dates can be arranged in these circumstances however please note that all students entering any programme within the University have to supply the University with their original stamped certificates from High School.
